Organoclay manufacturing process : At present in China, the production of organic bentonite procedures and processes, mainly divided into dry production and wet process production. From the final performance, these two processes have no substantial impact on the final performance of organic bentonite.

Generally in oilfield drilling, some of our organic bentonite applied to diesel fuel system will use the dry production process, in some mineral oil and synthetic oil system, we will choose the wet process to produce organic bentonite.

Organic clay Bentonite, primarily a rheological additive for clays, is suitable for use in solvent-based and resin systems in the non-polar to highly polar range. Its most important characteristic is its excellent suspension properties.

We generally use high-purity montmorillonite raw materials for modification, it is particularly easy to disperse, the particles are also very small, high viscosity, thixotropy is very high, so that the effect is transparent, lighter in color, and currently it has the advantage of a very wide range of applications.

Organoclay CP-21 is a new style of organoclay rheological additive made from bentonite. It is used in solvent and resin systems covering low polarity to medium polarity range.

It demonstrates excellent dispensability compared with conventional grades. It is a good replacement of CP-20 in aliphatic systems, especially in applications where the super dispensability attribute should be utilized as advantage.

It is a super dispersible grade that can increase flexibility in paint manufacturing. It can be added directly in powder under high shear condition. Addition level is commonly 0.1%~1.0% (7%-10% in greases) of total formulation by weight.

Polar activator can be eliminated, but small dosage of polar activator is helpful to achieve better performance.

When non-aliphatic solvent presents, the effectiveness of CP-21 should be evaluated.
