Clay rheology modifiers​

     Organobentonite is a rheology modifier. It achieves rheological and thixotropic properties in formulations by modification with quaternary amine salts.

    Organoclay is usually added at a level of 0.2% to 2%. If the appropriate amount of polar activator is added, the dispersion performance will be better and the various properties will be better.

It can finally realize the rheology, thixotropy, suspension, anti-settling, anti-sagging and so on of the paint, coating and lubricating grease.

Organic bentonite clay not only ensures the anti-sagging property of the paint coating, but also does not affect the glossiness of the paint itself, especially in some metallic paints, which are particularly demanding in terms of appearance, it not only does not affect the color of the paint, but also does not affect its glossiness.

So in the water-based system of coatings, paints and oil-based system of paints and coatings, you can boldly use organic bentonite as your rheological additives.

Rheology Modifier CP-EWS is modified bentonite. It is used in water-borne system.

Compared with CP-EW, CP-EWS has better performance of thixotropy, transparence and dispersion.

Using

Clay rheology modifiers​  CP-EWS it can be added directly in powder, with its addition to be 0.2~3.0%. Procedures are as follow.

  1. water (PH:7.0-8.0)
  2. CP-EWS (Dispersing at high speed for 20-30minutes)
  3. Additive
  4. Pigment and filler (Mixing and dispersing)
  5. Emulsion (Mixing).
  6. Post correct.

Storage

Clay rheology modifiers​  CP-EWS has a shelf life of 2 years, and should be stored in ventilated cool and dry place.
